Okay, Valentine’s Day is two days away now!! I am making some Valentine’s treat boxes for my mom to use at a Valentine’s party that her residents are having at work on Saturday. The boxes are going to be holding some cute sweets such as Haribo Heart Throbs, Marzipan Hearts and the good old favourites a few small packets of Love Hearts. The boxes will be placed on each table in the room, which will be all decorated, and no I am not invited….booo!!!!
So to begin with I took a piece of Cherry Cobbler A4 cardstock and cut it down to 11 5/8 inches x 7 2/8 inches and then using my Simply Scored scoring tool I scored the cardstock on the longer side first at 1 3/8 inches, 5 inches, 6 3/8 inches and 10 2/8 inches. Then on the shorter side I scored at 1 3/8 inches and 5 7/8 inches. Holding the cardstock horizontally I cut up each score line up to the first horizontal score line, and on each small tab piece, you should have three. One at each end and one in the middle I cut diagonally on each side of the tab to make them less square, if that makes sense!? Before putting the box together I die cut the two hearts on the top panel of my flat box with the heart die from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies from the Spring and Summer Catalogue. Now I adhered the first two sets of tabs to the inside of the side panels making the bottom of the box. I adhered the other two tabs to the inside of the side panel of the top piece of cardstock and you have your box. I used two squares of Window Sheet to cover the hearts from the inside with Mini Glue Dots.
I know I said I would try not to use the heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack but I couldn’t resist, I used it to punch three hearts from front panel of the top of the box. For my decoration I used the Note Tag Punch to punch a tag from some Cherry Cobbler cardstock and some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. On the Cherry Cobbler tag I stamped my sentiment from the You Plus Me stamp set with Versamark Ink and heat embossed this with White Embossing powder and my heat tool and offset layered them together with some Stampin Dimensionals and adhered my double tag to the top of my box.
For a finishing touch to my treat box I punched two hearts from the Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack from the gorgeous Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper and attached one to my tag and one in the top left corner of my box. All that is left now is to fill your box with yummy treats!!!
