Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you. The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues*. Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

So this is week 7 in our challenge and the sketch comes from the lovely Hannah from StampingwithHannah.com!

So for today’s sketch….

Today’s sketch caused a stir I can tell you, the ladies in the group were all saying “What???” but I knew straight away this sketch only meant one thing, Shaker card!!!! I also knew what stamp set I was going to use, the Botanicals For You Stamp Set from the Sale-a-Bration catalogueyou still have one month left to take advantage of the Sale-a-Bration promotion. I have gone in to more detail about the Sale-a-Bration promotion at the end of this post if you need to know more about how to bag these bargains.

For my card base I used Watermelon Wonder A4 Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches.

I took a piece of Window Sheet cut to 4 1/8 inches x 5 7/8 inches and stamped the sentiment from the Botanicals For You Stamp Set in White Stazon Ink.

20160226_204016_marked

While I waited for that to dry I took a piece of the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper cut to 4 1/8 inches x 5 7/8 inches and sponged on some Watermelon Wonder Classic Ink  on to the larger rose images on the paper.

20160226_204057_marked

I adhered my DSP to my card base. Taking another piece of Watermelon Wonder cardstock cut again at 4 1/8 inches x 5 7/8 inches I die cut out a frame with my Bigshot and the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits using the partial die cutting technique to get the right size of frame. I then adhered my window sheet piece using some Fast Fuse Adhesive. I popped on some Stampin Dimensionals all around my frame with no spaces so my sequins would not fall out.

20160226_204016_marked

I then placed some Sequins on my card front and popped on my frame. Using some more white stazon ink I used the small floral images from the stamp set in the corners of my frame and finally added some Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Pen to finish. I then used the Project Life Corner Punch to round off my corners.

I stamped another sentiment inside my card with white Stazon ink and another floral image and that finishes my card for this week’s sketch challenge.

Seasonal Sunday Stampin’ Up Wondrous Wreath Card

Happy Mother’s Day!!

I thought I would use my Sunday posts to showcase my projects I make for the current season or any upcoming holidays, hopefully I can inspire you by using some of the current seasonal products in the currents catalogues.

For today’s post I have used a very seasonal product.  I have plucked out my Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set from the Spring and Summer Catalogue  this stamp set was originally in the Autumn & Winter 2014 Supplement but was carried over and I thought I would showcase how you can use seasonal stamps all year round not just for the occasions they were designed for.  As it is Mother’s Day today and you all have your feet up I thought I would share a card that could be used for Mother’s Day or at any time of year.

Wondrous Wreath Card

I took a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe A4 Cardstock and cut it at 5  7/8 inches (14.8cm) and scored it at 4 1/8 inches (10.5cm).  I then took a piece of Whisper White cardstock on which I stamped the three different wreath images in three differing ink colours, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Sahara Sand Classic Inks.  I also took the small flower image and stamped this in the three colours too.  I die cut these images with the co-ordinating Wondrous Wreath Framelits Dies. I adhered this die cut images to some Whisper White Cardstock measuring 5 5/8 inches (13.9cm) x 3 7/8 inches (9.3cm) with some Stampin Dimensionals .  I also adhered three of the flowers I had die cut to this piece by adding some Basic Pearl Jewels to the centres.  I also added some basic pearls to my wreath along with some In Colour 2013 – 2015 sequins.

I stamped the sentiment from the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set in Sahara Sand Classic Ink underneath the wreath image.  To finish off my card front I wrapped some Silver Bakers Twine around it and adhered it to the back.  I then popped my card front onto my card base with some more dimensionals.

For the inside I popped a piece of whisper white cardstock measuring 5 5/8 inches (13.9cm) x 3 7/8 inches (9.3cm) in and adhered the three remaining flowers.

So Happy Mother’s Day cards to all the lovely mothers out there!!

Saturday Sketch Day Stampin’ Up Petal Potpourri Card

For Saturdays posts I have decided to use this as an opportunity to take part in some sketch and card challenges.  I have always wanted to take part in challenges but have never got around to it so I am hoping this will encourage me to do so, whether it is a sketch challenge or a theme challenge I think it is a good way to keep the inspiration flowing.

This week I have taken part in the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.

Sketch Challenge 177

Sketch Challenge 177

For my entry this week I used the Petal Potpourri Stamp Set from the Spring and Summer Catalogue and created a Mother’s Day card for my daughter to send to my mum this Mother’s Day.

I took a piece of A4 Blackberry Bliss Cardstock and cut it down to 8 2/8 inches (20.8cm) x 5 7/8 inches (14.4cm) and scored it at 4 1/8 inch (10.4cm) to make me card base.   To make my mat piece I took a piece of the In Colours 2014 – 2016 Background Designer Series Paper  in Blackberry Bliss and cut it to 5 3/8 inches (13.4cm) x 3 7/8 inches (9.3cm) and adhered this on to my card base with some snail adhesive.  I then took another piece of Blackberry Bliss (love this colour!!) measuring 5 1/8 inches (12.9cm) x 3 5/8 inches (8.8cm) and cut it at 1 inch and then cut half an inch of the remaining piece, so I now have 2 pieces.  I adhered this to the card base with Stampin Dimensionals leaving the half an inch gap in between.

Taking the co-ordinating Flower Medallion Punch I punched out a flower from the Blackberry Bliss Background DSP.  I stamped one of the flower images from the Petal Potpourri Stamp set in Versamark Ink and heat embossed this with White Stampin Embossing powder.  I too punched this out with the Flower Medallion punch and stuck them together with Mini Glue Dots.

Taking a strip of A4 Vellum measuring 3 1/2 inches (8.8cm) x 3/4 inch (1.9cm) I stamped a sentiment in Versamark Ink and heat embossed this again with Stampin White Embossing powder.  I adhered this to my flower piece with a glue dot and in the centre of the flower added a Something Borrowed Embellishment with another glue dot.   I then adhered my flower to my card with Stampin Dimensionals.

For the inside I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock  3 7/8 inches x  5 3/8 inches (9.3cm x 14.3cm) and stamped a sentiment in Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink and popped this on the inside of my card.

Stampin’ Up Mum’s Love Mother’s Day Gift Tag

So you have seen my Mother’s Day card and Curvy Keepsake Box, now its time for my gift tag.  I am certainly getting my money’s worth out of my Mum’s Love Stamp Set from the Spring and Summer Catalogue .

Mum's Love Gift Tag

Mum’s Love Gift Tag

I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut it at 5 1/2 inches (13.9cm) x 2 inches (5cm) and a piece Marina Mist A4 Cardstock measuring the same and using my Ornate Tag Topper punch I punched out two tags.  I then took a piece of my leftover embossed vellum from Sunday’s card (from A4 Vellum and the Something Lacy background stamp) cut this down and punched this into a tag piece.

On my Whisper White and Marina Mist cardstock I stamped images from the Mum’s Love stamp set.  I began by stamping images using the stamping off technique onto some paper first and then stamping on to my tags, I then stamped the main image and the sentiment in solid colour with the Marina Mist Classic Ink .

To bring my tag pieces together I threaded some Silver Baker’s Twine through one of the ever so pretty Something Borrowed Embellishments and tied it off.  I then used some sheer ribbon to tie my three tags and my embellishment together.

Seasonal Sunday Stampin’ Up Mum’s Love Mother’s Day Card

Happy Sunday!! I thought I would use my Sunday posts to showcase my projects I make for the current season or any upcoming holidays, hopefully I can inspire you by using some of the current seasonal products in the currents catalogues.

So as next Sunday is Mother’s Day I broke out my Mum’s Love Stamp Set from the Spring and Summer Catalogue and made a couple of cards using the same stamp set and techniques just in different colours.

I took a piece of Marina Mist A4 Cardstock and cut it at 5 7/8 inches (14.8cm) and scored it at 4 1/8 inches (10.5cm).  Then I took a piece of Wisteria Wonder A4 Cardstock and cut it at 4 1/8 inches (10.5cm) and scored it at 5 7/8 inches (14.8cm) for my card bases.  I then took two pieces of A4 Vellum measuring 5 3/8 inches (13.4cm) x 3 5/8 inches (8.8cm) and with the Something Lacy background stamp and Versamark Ink  I stamped both pieces.  I heat embossed this using my heat tool and Stampin Up White Embossing powder.  I adhered these pieces to my card bases.

I took two more pieces of Marina Mist and Wisteria Wonder cardstock measuring 4 3/8 inches (10.9cm) x 2 3/8 inches (5.8cm) and two pieces of Whisper White cardstock a 1/4 inch smaller on all sides.  On my coloured cardstock pieces I stamped some of the flower images using coordinating Marina Mist Classic Ink and Wisteria Wonder Classic Ink.  On the whisper white piece I stamped some more images and the main sentiment from the Mum’s Love stamp set.  I popped all these together and on to my card base with Stampin Dimensionals and on to my card fronts.

On the Wisteria Wonder card as I had positioned my sentiment piece up to the top left corner I felt the bottom right corner needed something so I punched 3 flowers with the four petal flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accent punch pack, sponged the edges and added some Basic Pearl Jewels to the centres and popped these on to my card.  I finished both cards off with some basic pearl jewels.

For the inside I popped a piece of whisper white cardstock measuring 5 5/8 inches (13.9cm) x 3 7/8 inches (9.3cm) in and stamped the remaining half of my sentiment and some of the coordinating images in the matching inks.

So two lovely Mother’s Day cards for all the lovely mothers out there!!
