Colour Throwdown Challenge Stampin’ Up’s Bloomin’ Love Valentine’s Card

Happy Valentine’s Day!! I couldn’t not share a Valentine’s Card on Valentine’s Day! I don’t feel like I have made that many this year, compared to last year. You know those memories that you get notified of on Facebook, well I have had one every day this week and they have all been cards that were published on my blog last year, I was obviously feeling the love!!

For today’s card I have tried a bit of a different challenge. I have noticed a few people taking part in this challenge on Instagram and I am always looking for ways to step out of my comfort zone when it comes to colour combinations so I thought I would give it a whirl…..

This weeks Colour Throwdown #379

So I chose Blushing Bride A4 Cardstock for my base, cut at 4 1/8 inch and scored at 5 7/8inches. I then cut a mat from Rich Razzleberry A4 Cardstock measuring 3 7/8 x 5 5/8 inches which I adhered a mat of Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum over measuring 3 6/8 x 5 4/8 inches.

Using the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Die and my BigShot I die cut the heart from Gold Foil Sheets. The matching Bloomin’ Love Stamp Set and Die set are available as a Bundle saving 15% and it is gorgeous, I will not be parting ways with mine for a long time to come!

I stamped the accent flowers in Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink on to some more Blushing Bride cardstock and die cut them and adhered them on to my gold heart. I then adhered some gold sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment. I popped my heart up on some Stampin Dimensionals and popped my card front up on to my card base.

Finally breaking out the stamps in the Bloomin’ Love Stamp Set I stamped the Banner stamp and my sentiment inside my banner in Melon Mambo Classic Ink on some more Blushing Bride cardstock. I also stamped three hearts and fussy cut these out with my Paper Snips. I popped my banner and hearts up on dimensionals and covered my hearts in Dazzling Details and my flowers on my heart in Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Pen for that extra bit of glitter!

Technique Thursday Stampin Up Your Perfect Day Heat Embossed Wedding Card

Thursdays posts will be somewhere I will be showcasing a technique or two.  From some of the new trendy ones that are popping up in the crafting world, to some of the good old favourites.  For todays post I have followed on from my last Technique Thursday post with heat embossing.

For the New Two Card

Your Perfect Day Wedding Card

For this Wedding Card I took a piece of Perfect Plum A4 Cardstock and cut it at 5 7/8 inches and scored it at 4 1/8 inches.  Taking some of the gorgeous Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum I cut this down to 5 5/8 inches x 3 7/8 inches and adhered this to my card base with some discreet dots of Tonbow Mono Multi Glue behind all the hearts.  For my main image piece I stamped the Wedding Cake image from the Your Perfect Day Stamp Set on to some more Perfect Plum Cardstock with some Versamark Ink.  I covered this image with some of the Stampin Silver Embossing Powder and melted this with my Heat Tool. I can’t tell you how lovely this embossing powder is, it is my first time using it and it is gorgeous!!

I decided to use some of the beautiful embellishments from the Artisan Embellishment Kit for my card.  I first adhered one of the paper doilies to the back of my main image and popped it up on my card base with some Stampin Dimensionals. I took some of the gorgeous purple velvet ribbon from the kit and by cutting a small slice out of the edge of my card thread the ribbon through and round my card front a few times.

Stampin Silver Heat Embossed Powder

To finish my card off I pressed my Versamark Stamp pad on to some scrap card stock and covered it with some more of the Silver Stampin Embossing Powder and melted this with my heat tool. I punched out a heart from the Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack and popped this up on my image with a Stampin Dimensional. Finally I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and that is it for this week!
