Today’s post is a huge mash up of points to get across, so we have our sketch and as I mentioned above we have Sam’s birthday, then there is Valentine’s day tomorrow but also we have a few items from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue that are only available until 15th February, yep two more days to grab these amazing products! I have gone in to more detail about the Sale-a-Bration promotion at the end of this post if you need to know more about how to bag these bargains.

For my card bases I used Crumb Cake A4 Cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches and scored at 5 7/8 inches.

Then taking the gorgeous Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper, and you don’t realise how gorgeous this paper is until you open it! I cut four strips, two from the Melon Mambo/Blushing Bride colour, and one of each of the Crushed Curry/Daffodil Delight, Soft/Tempting Turquoise, measuring 3 x 5 5/8 inches.

I adhered these to my card fronts and then with some more Crumb Cake cardstock I stamped my sentiment from the Sky is the Limit stamp set, and like the DSP this is only available for two more days and would be perfect for Father’s Day cards!!, in Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and my heat tool.

As I can’t resist using my Prismacolour pencils on Crumb Cake Cardstock I coloured in the trailing smoky heart image that I lined up under my sentiment using my Stamp-a-mi-jig in matching colours. I then punched these out with the 2″ inch Circle Punch.

I did add in a Happy Birthday sentiment for our Birthday girl! To finish my cards off I adhered my sentiment pieces on to some 2 3/8″ Scalloped Circle punch outs from the Perfectly Artistic DSP.

To add a bit of interest behind my sentiment pieces I made some “Pootle Loops” with some of the White 1 1/4 Jute Ribbon and popped my sentiments up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. To round the cards off I punched out three hearts, it is Valentine’s weekend, with my heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and popped these up and added some Basic Pearl Jewels.

Stampin Up Daffodil Delight Post It Note Swaps for Telford 2015

So it is a busy time at the moment in the Stampin Up! world. First we had the retiring list, then we have the sneak peeks from the new catalogue and on the 3rd June the new catalogue launches!

However, this weekend (May 16) was the Regional Stampin Up Training event in Telford. I was lucky enough to be able to attend and had a fabulous time and met some lovely ladies, it was my first Stampin Up event and I was not disappointed.

Daffodil Delight Post It Note Holder

Daffodil Delight Post It Note Holder

To take along with me I made 50 swaps to exchange with my fellow demonstrators and before I share with you the lovely examples from the event I thought I would share what I made to take along.

For my Post It note holder I took a piece of Daffodil Delight Cardstock measuring 6 3/4 x 3 1/8 inches and scored it at 3 1/8 inches and 3 5/8 inches. I then took a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 3 x 3 inches and sponged the edges with Daffodil Delight Classic Ink and adhered this to my base. Taking another piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock measuring 2 6/8 x 2 6/8 inches and adhering this also to my base.

The main embellishment is a flower taken from the Petal Potpourri Stamp set,  stamped in Versamark Ink and heat embossed with White Stampin Embossing Powder on to Vellum Cardstock. I punched this out with my Flower Medallion Punch and adhered on to the front of my Post It holder.

To finish off my swap I cut a small sentiment strip and stamped a sentiment from the Hello Life Stamp Set in Daffodil Delight Classic Ink. I also punched out a flower from the four leaf petal punch from the Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack, I added this along with a Basic Pearl Jewel and not forgetting to add a Sticky Note pad inside!

Technique Thursday Stampin Up Your Perfect Day Heat Embossed Wedding Card

Thursdays posts will be somewhere I will be showcasing a technique or two.  From some of the new trendy ones that are popping up in the crafting world, to some of the good old favourites.  For todays post I have followed on from my last Technique Thursday post with heat embossing.

For the New Two Card

Your Perfect Day Wedding Card

For this Wedding Card I took a piece of Perfect Plum A4 Cardstock and cut it at 5 7/8 inches and scored it at 4 1/8 inches.  Taking some of the gorgeous Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum I cut this down to 5 5/8 inches x 3 7/8 inches and adhered this to my card base with some discreet dots of Tonbow Mono Multi Glue behind all the hearts.  For my main image piece I stamped the Wedding Cake image from the Your Perfect Day Stamp Set on to some more Perfect Plum Cardstock with some Versamark Ink.  I covered this image with some of the Stampin Silver Embossing Powder and melted this with my Heat Tool. I can’t tell you how lovely this embossing powder is, it is my first time using it and it is gorgeous!!

Silver Heat Embossed Wedding Cake Image

Silver Heat Embossed Wedding Cake Image

I decided to use some of the beautiful embellishments from the Artisan Embellishment Kit for my card.  I first adhered one of the paper doilies to the back of my main image and popped it up on my card base with some Stampin Dimensionals. I took some of the gorgeous purple velvet ribbon from the kit and by cutting a small slice out of the edge of my card thread the ribbon through and round my card front a few times.

For the New Two Card

Stampin Silver Heat Embossed Powder

To finish my card off I pressed my Versamark Stamp pad on to some scrap card stock and covered it with some more of the Silver Stampin Embossing Powder and melted this with my heat tool. I punched out a heart from the Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack and popped this up on my image with a Stampin Dimensional. Finally I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and that is it for this week!

Tag it Tuesday Stampin’ Up Sale-a-Bration Irresistibly Yours Thinking of You Cards

I am trying to introduce some themes to my daily posts to challenge myself to make different projects.  So today is “Tag it Tuesday” LOL.  Well we all know Stampin’ Up do amazing punches including the tag punches which I love!  However, you do not always have to use them as plain tags, albeit at Christmas this is mighty handy!  But throughout the year you may not feel the need to break out your tag punches but they can be used for so many other things!

I decided to create a couple of cards incorporating the Ornate Tag Topper Punch as an embellishment piece on my  card front.

So I took some Pistachio Pudding and So Saffron A4 Cardstock and I cut the So Saffron piece to 8 2/8inches x 5 7/8 inches and scored it at 4 1/8 inches and cut the Pistachio Pudding piece to 11 6/8 inches x 4 1/8 inches and scored this at 5 7/8 inches for my card bases.  I took some of the gorgeous Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper, free as part of the Sale-a-Bration promotion with every £45 you spend, see more details below, and cut two pieces to 5 5/8 inches x 3 7/8 inches and a further two pieces to 4 inches x 2 inches.  I then sponged on some Pistachio Pudding Classic Ink on to one of the larger pieces and some So Saffron Classic Ink on to the other larger piece of DSP.  Taking the two smaller pieces I sponged on Pink Pirouette Classic Ink on to one piece and some Wisteria Wonder Classic Ink on to the other piece.

Taking my Ornate Tag Topper punch I punched the two tag pieces from these smaller pieces of DSP.  To embellish the Tag I used the floral stamp image from the For The New Two Stamp Set.  I stamped this in all four colours and fussy cut this out.  I then took a small strip of Pistachio Pudding Cardstock and So Saffron Cardstock and stamped my sentiment from the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink.  I thread some Pink Pirouette Seam Binding Ribbon through my pink tag and some Crushed Curry Ribbon through my Wisteria Wonder tag and then popped these up on some Stampin Dimensionals and adhered them to my card front.  I then adhered the stamped images and my sentiment banner.  I also took my Four Petal Flower Punch from the Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack and punched 3 flowers from some Pistachio Pudding cardstock and some So Saffron cardstock.  I added some Basic Pearl Jewels to these and added them to my card front with some Mini Glue Dots.  I popped both card fronts onto my card bases with more Stampin Dimensionals and finished off with a few more Basic Pearl Jewels.

For the inside I just popped in some Whisper White Cardstock cut to 5 5/8 inches x 3 7/8 inches and stamped the floral images again from the For The New Two stamp set in coordinating colours.

I had no idea how these cards were going to turn out, I didn’t have a plan going into them only that I wanted to use the Ornate Tag Topper Punch!

Seasonal Sunday Stampin’ Up Mum’s Love Mother’s Day Card

Happy Sunday!! I thought I would use my Sunday posts to showcase my projects I make for the current season or any upcoming holidays, hopefully I can inspire you by using some of the current seasonal products in the currents catalogues.

So as next Sunday is Mother’s Day I broke out my Mum’s Love Stamp Set from the Spring and Summer Catalogue and made a couple of cards using the same stamp set and techniques just in different colours.

I took a piece of Marina Mist A4 Cardstock and cut it at 5 7/8 inches (14.8cm) and scored it at 4 1/8 inches (10.5cm).  Then I took a piece of Wisteria Wonder A4 Cardstock and cut it at 4 1/8 inches (10.5cm) and scored it at 5 7/8 inches (14.8cm) for my card bases.  I then took two pieces of A4 Vellum measuring 5 3/8 inches (13.4cm) x 3 5/8 inches (8.8cm) and with the Something Lacy background stamp and Versamark Ink  I stamped both pieces.  I heat embossed this using my heat tool and Stampin Up White Embossing powder.  I adhered these pieces to my card bases.

I took two more pieces of Marina Mist and Wisteria Wonder cardstock measuring 4 3/8 inches (10.9cm) x 2 3/8 inches (5.8cm) and two pieces of Whisper White cardstock a 1/4 inch smaller on all sides.  On my coloured cardstock pieces I stamped some of the flower images using coordinating Marina Mist Classic Ink and Wisteria Wonder Classic Ink.  On the whisper white piece I stamped some more images and the main sentiment from the Mum’s Love stamp set.  I popped all these together and on to my card base with Stampin Dimensionals and on to my card fronts.

On the Wisteria Wonder card as I had positioned my sentiment piece up to the top left corner I felt the bottom right corner needed something so I punched 3 flowers with the four petal flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accent punch pack, sponged the edges and added some Basic Pearl Jewels to the centres and popped these on to my card.  I finished both cards off with some basic pearl jewels.

For the inside I popped a piece of whisper white cardstock measuring 5 5/8 inches (13.9cm) x 3 7/8 inches (9.3cm) in and stamped the remaining half of my sentiment and some of the coordinating images in the matching inks.

So two lovely Mother’s Day cards for all the lovely mothers out there!!

Stampin’ Up Sale-a-Bration Irresistibly Yours Football Themed Birthday Card

For this birthday card the inspiration came from the colours.  My fellow “Pootler” Debbie Bradley at http://www.larlicrafts.wordpress.com showcased a lovely easel card she made using Melon Mambo Classic Ink and Tempting Turquoise Classic Ink.  These colours reminding of my favourite football teams colours and with my Dad’s birthday looming I got sponging!  I made two cards with similar techniques.

For the first card I took a piece of the Sale-a-Bration Irresistibly Yours Speciality Designer Series Paper measuring 5 5/8 inches x 3 7/8 inches (14.3cm x 10cm) and sponged on the Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise inks blending as I went.  These colours work so well together.  I then took my Little Letters Dies and cut out the letters representing my team and to finish off my piece I used the Confetti Stars Border Punch.  I adhered this to my card base of a piece of A4 Tempting Turquoise Cardstock cut at 5 7/8 inches (14.8cm) and scored at 4 1/8 inches (10.5cm).  I then took a small strip of the Tempting Turquoise cardstock and the Happy Birthday sentiment from the B.Y.O.P Stamp Set from the Spring and Summer Catalogue to make a sentiment banner, stamping in Versamrk Ink and heat embossing with Stampin Up White Embossing powder.  I finished the banner by punching out a star with the star punch from the Itty Bitty Accent punch pack and popped this onto my card front.

For my second card I blended the two colours onto some Whisper White cardstock measuring 5 7/8 inches x 4 1/8 inches (14.8cm x10.5cm) and adhered this to my card base, a piece of Whisper White A4 Cardstock cut at 5 7/8 inches (14.8cm) scored at 4 1/8 inches (10.5cm).  For my front piece I took a piece of Irresistibly Yours DSP and used the Little Letters Dies and Confetti Stars border punch to cut out my design.  For my sentiment banner I used Melon Mambo cardstock this time.  I popped these onto my card base and all its done two quick football themed cards which can be adapted with your favourite team colours!!

Stampin’ Up Sale-a-Bration Irresistibly Yours and One Tag Fits All Card Series You Light Up my Life

For my 4th card in my mini series I wanted to brighten things up a bit and surprised myself actually as this combination turned out to be one of my favourites!

I took my usual piece of the Sale-a-Bration Irresistibly Yours Speciality Designer Series Paper measuring 5 5/8 inches x 3 7/8 inches (14.3cm x 10cm) and sponged on some Daffodil Delight Classic Ink in a couple of different spots and then blended in some Tangerine Tango Classic ink and I think these work really well together.

For my card base I used a piece of A4 Daffodil Delight cardstock cut at 4 1/8 inches (10.5cm) and scored at 5 7/8 inches (14.8cm ).

SAB Irresistibly Yours You Light Up My Life Card

SAB Irresistibly Yours You Light Up My Life Card

I created my layered tag embellishment using my Note Tag Punch, a piece of Daffodil Delight Cardstock and a piece of Whisper White cardstock on to which I stamped the “You Light Up My Life” image from the One Tag Fits all Stamp Set . I coloured my image and popped it on to the Daffodil Delight tag piece with some Stampin Dimensionals.  I sponged the edges with each of the ink colours and attached some Natural Linen Thread to finish my tag and adhered it along with my piece of Irresistibly Yours DSP to my card base.  I felt my card front needed something else to finish it off so I punched out three four leaf flowers with my flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accent punch pack, sponged the edges and popped some Basic Pearl Jewels in the middle and popped these up in the top corner of my card.

For the inside I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5 5/8 inches x 3 7/8 inches (14.3cm x 10cm) and stamped a sentiment from the SAB Simply Wonderful stamp set and then I stamped some leaf accents in the Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango Inks from the Perpetual Calendar Stamp Set to finish off the inside.

Stampin’ Up Sale-a-Bration Irresistibly Yours and One Tag Fits All Card Series You’re a Diamond Card

For todays card I went Grey, not fifty shades just two, the Darker shade with the Basic Grey Classic Ink and the lighter shade with the Smoky Slate Classic Ink. I started with the Basic Grey ink and used a circular motion from the middle of my piece of Sale-a-Bration Irresistibly Yours Speciality Designer Series Paper working my way outward, then swapping to the Smoky Slate ink to keep the outer part of my DSP lighter.

SAB You're a Diamond Card

SAB You’re a Diamond Card

I then built a triple layered tag embellishment using my Note Tag Punch and a piece of Whisper White cardstock on to which I stamped the “You’re a Diamond” image from the One Tag Fits all Stamp Set , I stamped this image out twice. I coloured one image, cut it out and popped it on to the tag piece with some Stampin Dimensionals. I adhered this to a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock that I also stamped out using my Note Tag Punch.

SAB You're a Diamond Card

I adhered the tag to my piece of DSP measuring 5 5/8inches x 3 7/8inches (14.3cm x 10cm) and then popped it on to my card base which is a piece of A4 Basic Grey cardstock cut at 5 5/7 inches (14.8cm) and scored at 4 1/8 inches (10cm). I took my star punch from the Itty Bitty Accent punch pack and punched out some stars from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper and popped these up on my card front and I embellished with some Basic Rhinestones Jewels for some bling and moved on to the inside.

I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5 5/8 inches x 3 7/8 inches (14.3cm x 10cm) and stamped a sentiment from the SAB Simply Wonderful stamp set and then I stamped some matching stars from the Perpetual Calendar Stamp Set to finish off the inside.

Stampin’ Up Valentines You Plus Me Treat Boxes

Okay, Valentine’s Day is two days away now!!  I am making some Valentine’s treat boxes for my mom to use at a Valentine’s party that her residents are having at work on Saturday.  The boxes are going to be holding some cute sweets such as Haribo Heart Throbs, Marzipan Hearts and the good old favourites a few small packets of Love Hearts.  The boxes will be placed on each table in the room, which will be all decorated, and no I am not invited….booo!!!!

Valentine Treat Box

Valentine Treat Box

So to begin with I took a piece of Cherry Cobbler A4 cardstock and cut it down to 11 5/8 inches x 7 2/8 inches and then using my Simply Scored scoring tool I scored the cardstock on the longer side first at 1 3/8 inches, 5 inches, 6 3/8 inches and 10 2/8 inches.  Then on the shorter side I scored at 1 3/8 inches and 5 7/8 inches.  Holding the cardstock horizontally I cut up each score line up to the first horizontal score line, and on each small tab piece, you should have three.  One at each end and one in the middle I cut diagonally on each side of the tab to make them less square, if that makes sense!? Before putting the box together I die cut the two hearts on the top panel of my flat box with the heart die from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies from the Spring and Summer Catalogue.  Now I adhered the first two sets of tabs to the inside of the side panels making the bottom of the box.  I adhered the other two tabs to the inside of the side panel of the top piece of cardstock and you have your box.  I used two squares of Window Sheet to cover the hearts from the inside with Mini Glue Dots.

Valentine's Treat Box

Valentine’s Treat Box

I know I said I would try not to use the heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack but I couldn’t resist, I used it to punch three hearts from front panel of the top of the box.  For my decoration I used the Note Tag Punch to punch a tag from some Cherry Cobbler cardstock and some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  On the Cherry Cobbler tag I stamped my sentiment from the You Plus Me stamp set with Versamark Ink and heat embossed this with White Embossing powder and my heat tool and offset layered them together with some Stampin Dimensionals and adhered my double tag to the top of my box.

Valentine's Treat Box

Valentine’s Treat Box

For a finishing touch to my treat box I punched two hearts from the Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack from the gorgeous Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper and attached one to my tag and one in the top left corner of my box.  All that is left now is to fill your box with yummy treats!!!

Stampin’ Up Valentine’s Day Mini Post it holder and Notebook

So Valentine’s Day is three days away!! I decided to make my daughter some little Valentine’s goodies to use at school this week.  She is stationery mad and loves note pads and books etc. so I got a little creative with a Mini Post it holder and then covered a simple notebook to match.

So for both projects I used the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper stack from the Spring and Summer Catalogue.  Firstly I made the mini post it holder.  I took some Calypso Coral A4 Cardstock and cut it down to 3 x 9 4/8 inches (7.5cm x 23.8cm) and scored it using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool at the following points 2 inches, 2 5/8 inches, 4 6/8 inches, 5 5/8 inches, 7 6/8 inches and 8 5/8 inches (5cm, 6.5cm, 11.6cm, 14cm, 19.3cm and 21.7cm).  Then taking a sheet of the Stacked with Love DSP I cut 6 pieces of DSP the first for the front at 2 3/4 inches x 1.7/8 inches (7cm x 4.8cm), then a piece for the back at 2 3/4 inches x 2 inches (7cm x 5cm), and finally for the middle at 2 3/4 inches x 1 6/8 inches (7cm x 4.5cm).  Then I cut three pieces for the sides, the first for the flap at the front at 2 3/4 inch x 1/2 inch (7cm x 1.3cm) and then two pieces for the sides at 2 3/4 inches x 6/8 inch (7cm x 1.9cm).  I adhered all these with snail adhesive to my scored cardstock.  I then took 3 mini post it pads and took some more snail adhesive and stuck these on the three largest panels on the inside of my cardstock.  To fasten this I did try a couple of methods and found the best way was with some Velcro dots that I purchased on Amazon relatively cheaply.

I then took a simple jotter notebook that I picked up in my local pound shop (I think it was in a pack of 3 or 4 for a pound) I measured a piece of Basic Black Cardstock for the front panel plus 1/8 inch, then the thickness of the pad and allowed approximately two inches to be able to secure the cardstock on the back of the notebook, my piece measured 7 6/8 inches x 4 2/8 inches (19.6cm x 10.9cm) but your notebooks may be of a different size so you will need to measure it.  I scored my cardstock at 5 6/8 inches and then again at 6 inches for the folds over the top of the notebook.  Sam Donald of http://www.pootles.co.uk has a brilliant YouTube tutorial on how to measure and cover notebooks, her YouTube name is PootlesPapercraft!

I then cut a piece of Stacked with Love DSP measuring 5 1/2 inches x 4 2/8 inches (14cm x 10.9cm) and adhered this to the cardstock covering the front of my notebook.  I then added three hearts to each project using the heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accent Punch pack, I promise I will try and make something where I don’t use this punch, but I love it!! I cut three hearts for each project from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and for the mini post it holder I used Calypso Coral cardstock and for the notebook Basic Black cardstock and layered the six hearts on top of each other adding a Basic Rhinestone to each heart to finish.

My daughter loved these and has come back from school with a list of school friends that also want them, didn’t do myself any favours there did I????
