Cheerful Critter’s Shaker Card Pootlers Blog Hop

Pootlers Blog Hop-001

Today I am taking part in a blog hop alongside my fellow “Pootler’s”.

I decided to go with a Shaker card, as it seems that these have become very popular, so for my first blog hop my first shaker card.

Cheerful Critters Shaker Card

I stamped the three adorable critters from the Cheerful Critters Stamp Set from the Spring and Summer Catalogue on to some Whisper White Cardstock in Memento Black Ink and coloured them in with some Stampin Up Blendabilities and used some of the Bast Year Ever Designer Series Paper to paper piece their clothing.  I then went on to make a frame for my shaker card front which I used the Project life Cards and Labels Framelits and some partial die  cutting to customise my frame out of a piece of the Best Year Ever DSP.  For my card base I took a piece of Wisteria Wonder A4 Cardstock cut it at 5 7/8 inches (14.8cm) and scored it at 4 /1/8 inches.

To build a background for my shaker card I stamped the cards that the critters are holding up onto some more DSP and popped these up on the inside of my shaker card i.e. my card front aligned with where my critters will be.  I adhered my critters to the front of my shaker frame and on the inside I adhered a piece of Window Sheet cut at 5 1/2 inches x 3 3/4 inches and then some strips of foam tape creating a rectangle on the back of my frame with the foam tape, making sure there are no gaps for any of my sequins to fall out of.  So I filled my frame with some of the In Colour 2013-2015 Collection sequins and popped my card front on to my shaker frame.

For the inside I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5 5/8 inches x 3 7/8 inches (14.3cm x 10cm) and adhered three strips of DSP and there we go my first ever shaker card showcasing the Cheerful Critters Stamp Set and the Best Year Ever DSP.

We’ve got some Blog Candy up for grabs – to be in with a chance of winning a bundle of goodies, including the Best Day Ever stamp set, the Best Year ever paper set and the co-ordinating ribbons and buttons, all you have to do is work your way through the hop before midday on Sunday and leave a comment on every blog.  The winner will be chosen at random and announced in the Pootles Craft Forum and here on Tuesday, 3d March
